Launch event
Over one hundred Queen Mary’s Hospital staff met with Susan Acott and her team on Friday 22nd February, to hear about and discuss the plans for maintaining services on the site.
Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust have been successful in taking on the future running of the elective services at Queen Mary’s Hospital site as recommended in the Trust Special Administrator, Matthew Kershaw's report on the South London Healthcare Trust . CEO Susan Acott, Nursing Director Kate King, HR Director Jane Burr and a number of other senior Dartford and Gravesham managers gave presentations or answered questions about how services will operate going forward.
Susan Acott said “We have the same values as the staff on this site, our vision for QMH is to maintain its services for patients by working in partnership with the staff. I have always admired the way that QMH deliver services and feel there are a lot of synergies between Darent Valley and Queen Mary’s.”
The launch event lasted for over an hour with QMH staff eager to ask lots of questions about the services being taken over, the impact on their own jobs and questions about things that staff were worried about.
The event was well received and is the first part of a number of events to help both QMH staff and our own DVH staff to understand the impact of taking on the new services.
At the event several questions where raised, these have been placed into an easy to read document with the answers provided. Please click HERE to read them.
